Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign At NWN
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among females in Lebanon. And yet, despite these high statistics a lack of awareness is still present among most of the women in our country and it is important to create awareness about cancer's symptoms among the women.
On the occasion of the International Breast Cancer Awarenessmonth, in collaboration with the Aley Motherhood Committee, Life Care Polyclinic Aley, and Smart Medical Laboratory, the National Wellness Network (NWN) held a seminar targeted at women above thirty years of age to raise awareness about breast cancer. NWN offered free assessment testssuch as Vision Assessment, Full Body Assessment, Blood Glucose and Cholesterol blood Tests.
The Campaign included a seminar that provided informative lectures from a gynecologist, a psychologist, and a radiologist who presented to the attendees the latest facts, along with some descriptive tips for breast cancerhome tests and awareness regarding breast cancer. The event, within the mission and vision of the NWN’s aim to increase women's knowledge across the country, aimed to shed light on breast cancer,to increase awareness about this chronic disease and to highlight the importance of usual mammography scan and tests. The presenters stated that after forty years of age, women are at high risk as are a number of men.

NWN hopes that the cooperation and consciousness of the women who attended the event will create a far-reaching effect in the whole country, and raise awareness for marginalized women in Lebanon.
