Global Partners in Education (GPE): Collaboration in Global Understanding course
Global Partners in Education: Collaboration in a Global Understanding course
Global Partners in Education (GPE) is a global network of universities that is focused on using virtual collaborative environments to unite students from across the world under the patronage of East Carolina University (ECU), USA. The Modern University for Business and Science (MUBS) has been a member of the GPE network since 2011. The Global Understanding Core is a flexible structure that outlines the minimum expectations for all partners participating in the GU course. It identifies both what is expected of you, and what you can expect from your partners to ensure both partners have the best possible experience. All participating partners are expected to strive and aspire to the policies, practices, and procedures outlined in this GU Core.

Audience:
Students from all academic areas are eligible and encouraged to participate in the Global Understanding program; however, international student enrollment in GU courses must not exceed 20% of total student enrollment per section per semester. Additionally, international students should be instructed to focus on their experience as an international student in their host country rather than talking about their home countries.
Course Description
This course familiarizes students with various forms of social media and technology for oral and written communication when English is being used as the medium of communication. It provides them with the skills needed to communicate effectively in a complex, intercultural, and international environment. This course is intended to acquaint students with theories of communication while exposing them to various cultures. Students learn the process of communicating with an international partner to create reports, apply core communication concepts, and are encouraged to use their critical thinking skills and technology to maximize exposure to international communication settings.
